About Personal Finance

This course is designed for students who want to learn how to get the most out of their money today while planning for their future. Students will develop a career plan, prepare a budget, learn about banking and credit, plan for retirement, and set up an investment portfolio of stocks and mutual funds. Students will participate in many online learning activities as they develop their own personal financial plan.

Knowledge Matters is the leader in virtual experiential learning, providing simulations for High Schools, Colleges and Universities.

Collaboration Simulations will help you teach 21st Century office skills and meet your learning objectives for teamwork, collaboration, and communication.  Because students track personal behavior and spending habits (finding an apartment, finding a job, getting a bank account, paying taxes, and more) of their simulated character, students are more likely to retain more personal finance knowledge.

Learning 21st century skills and applying them to budgeting, banking, and other aspects of Financial Literacy is extremely important to ensure future financial success.

 

By using a bank's Bill Pay process, the example linked above give students practice with using online Bill Pay to pay individuals and accounts with account numbers.  The importance of completing this with accuracy is emphasized.
